Campingaz has developed 2 barbecues for the coming summer, especially for those who do not have access to a garden and have to do with a balcony. We have been using the Campingaz Attitude 2100 LX for a while and would like to tell you about our experience.
When the huge box was delivered, the delivery person thought it was a printer. The Attitude does indeed resemble some office equipment. Taste differs, of course, but we find it a classy barbecue. In addition to the 2100 LX, there is also the EX version. The difference is a warming rack, the Instastart system, and a digital thermometer that measures both zones separately.
Unpacking and assembling is really very simple. The barbecue is ready for use in 15 minutes. What we regret is that no gas hose and gas pressure regulator is included. These do not cost much, but you have to go to the hardware store for 30 to 40 euros.
The Attitude 2100 is a so-called table barbecue, but the first thing you notice is the size. The Attitude has a grill grate surface of 2100 cm². That’s where the name comes from. As a table barbecue, that is really quite large.
Take into account a ground surface of 60 x 60 cm (24 x 24 inches) for the entire barbecue. That is the space that the grill takes up when the lid is open. So it is not a barbecue that you quickly take with you on holiday or a day out.
However, the format provides the space for serious barbecuing. A whole meal from the barbecue is no problem. And then you still have enough space to slide things back and forth. The large surface area is enough for an average family of 4.
The grid is made of cast iron and consists of 3 parts. 1 part is a grill plate with a smooth and ribbed side. This is great for burgers or meat or fish when you want to prevent flare-ups. The other grill has a removable round part in which different inserts can be placed. Campingaz already has a pizza stone and paella pan that fit into it.
The Attitude 2100 has 2 individually adjustable burners. This allows you to barbecue indirectly. An additional button for the electric ignition ensures ignition. The EX version has the Instastart system that is incorporated in the rotary knobs. That saves another button.
The Attitude does not get very hot very quickly, and 250 degrees is the maximum temperature. That is enough for most dishes, but if you want to grill a thick steak, you have to make sure that the cast iron plate is heated up long enough before you see thick grill stripes.
Cleaning the Attitude is really easy. The side panels are easy to remove and can be put in the dishwasher. You can slide out the grease tray underneath as a drawer at the front. The grill needs a little more maintenance due to the cast iron.
The Campingaz Attitude 2100 is an ideal barbecue for a family that only has access to a balcony in the summer. The large grill surface and easy maintenance are the most significant advantages of this barbecue.
Be sure to buy the cover because the Attitude is just too heavy and too big to store inside every time. Let it stand so that you can start grilling immediately after work.
